I’m Taking The Weekend Off

So dig into the archives for one of my past gems.

Yes, I drew this too.
On Monday- increasing frequency.  Yeah, I’ll finally address it.

Very Caravaggesque! Do share on the brand of pens. And a thought occurred to me while painting and listening to random music. Though it's dated, the band Triumph and particularly the songs 'Lay it on the Line' and 'Never Surrender' yielded some great results in the Highland Park high school football weight room back in the 80s – plates all over the floor with the rusty remnants of Copenhagen snuff clinging like wasps nests and the smell of heat and the sound of fans like huge turbines.

Why would you assume something went wrong at Arthur's hall? The guy makes me laugh, from the point of view that he considers himself to be god's (or Odin's rather) gift to women. All that alpha shit gets really tiresome, especially when you're dealing with someone that deals in absolutes, we all like to fuck and fight, but how seriously am I supposed to take a guy that considers a shotgun scatter approach a legitimate way to meet women?

And by shotgun scatter approach, I mean his emailing hundreds of women at a time to look for sex, which obviously is just more efficient, and in no way could be misconstrued as a fear of rejection.

Just browsing through ditillo2.blogspot.com and found this: http://ditillo2.blogspot.com/2008/11/shoulder-size-power-anthony-ditillo.html

It's essentially C&P, scarily similar actually. 10-14 sets of 3-5, heavy partials. Pressing 5 days a week with one or two pulls and one squat.

Then one of the last lines of the article:

"I also found out that grinding out set after set of 5’s in the various other pressing movements would also result in an increase in muscle mass but only if the rest pause between sets was kept to a bare minimum."

    Good shit.

Louse has several other Ditillo articles on that blog. I know because at least two of them (maybe three) were sent to him by me. They're all very good. He (Ditillo) gravitated more and more over the years towards frequent, high volume training with very short rest periods between sets.

Yeah, i've noticed on quite a few of Ditillo's routines on the site advocate short (not exceeding a minute) rest periods between sets. It's a great site, I like to visit from periodically and just pick articles at random to read.

    Speaking of C&P similarites:
I've seen the press lockout/OH squat lockout/whatever you want to call it mentioned numerous times on the site. The writers who mention used it to strengthen the OH press. Grimek was said to use it frequently.

Some interesting articles in that blog. Bookmarking it to read through later. Thank you for the link.

There's some really good information in it, I highly recommend working your way through it. Squats and milk feature frequently throughout, as do full body workouts three times a week, go figure.

Increasing frequency should be known by all, if not then you just lift more over a longer period of time. Nuff said

Plus, I don't believe that Hitler took a weekend off from burning Jews, so how dare you Jamie. haha

Hahaha. Between AH and Bodyspace, I've been e-brawling with everyone lately. Good times.

As for the art- most of it's not scanned, but I'll put up what I have.

As to the pens- I actually just use Pilot felt tips of varying widths.

I'll have to check out Ditillo's stuff. I've just used it as a source for strongman routines.

Mayo- Highland Park, TX? I lived in Highland as a kid.

Anthony Ditillo is only one of many authors who are featured on that blog. The blog is just named after him. He's been dead for years.

GO SCOTS! Actually I'm not all that proud of it and got out of there as fast as I could, but yes, Jamie, Highland Park in Dallas class of 88, wrestled under Tim Marzuola from 83 on and played footblah for the Snots. Best, m

Haha. I was 6 when we lived there, I think. We lived there at one point, and later in Richland. Small world. My sister was so Texas proud, though, she ended up going to SMU.

Small world indeed. I went to SMU myself. My mom worked there so I got free tuition. I have a pretty good little garage set-up with some of Pendlay's drop plates and one of his thousand dollar bars and the power rack that you often use in your videos, SO, if you ever pass through give me a shout. mayopurnell@hotmail.com
