Something's wrong with the above quote. I'm pretty sure corn was a new world crop exclusively, so how would Caesar have known anything about it? Mistranslation maybe?

Disregard last comment. I asked a biologist, who said that while maize is a new world crop, the term "corn" was sometimes used for any random grain kinda like "Coke" is used to mean "Soda".
